![]() Joint Public Statement of the Makakalikasan - Sustainable Agriculture Action Group and the Makakalikasan-Youth We, the Makakalikasan - Sustainable Agriculture Action Group and the Makakalikasan-Youth, welcome the recent development reported in the Inquirer article1, which highlights the growing interest of young leaders in organic farming and sustainable agriculture. We congratulate the League of Organic Agriculture Municipalities, Cities, and Provinces (LOAMCP) for their efforts in promoting organic farming and sustainable agriculture in the Philippines.
As a party committed to sustainable agriculture in the Philippines, the Makakalikasan Party has long recognized the importance of organic farming and sustainable agriculture in promoting food security, protecting the environment, and improving the livelihoods of farmers. Our continuing commitment to sustainable agriculture is articulated in our party platform2, which outlines our vision for a sustainable and equitable agricultural system in the Philippines. The Makakalikasan-Youth is also committed to building a green movement in the country that is supportive of sustainable agriculture. As described in the Makakalikasan-Youth's mission statement3, our organization aims to empower young people to take action on environmental issues, including sustainable agriculture, through education, advocacy, and community engagement. We believe that the growing interest in organic farming and sustainable agriculture among young leaders in the Philippines is a positive development that bodes well for the future of our country.
